The RegTech Association – Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all membership categories of The RegTech Association (RTA), including RegTech, Corporate, Affiliate: Startup, Affiliate: Individual, and Affiliate: Government, Research, University Memberships. By applying for, purchasing, or renewing any RTA membership, you agree to the following.

1. Eligibility & Categories

1.1. Membership categories are defined by the RTA and include:

  • RegTech (Small, Medium, Large)
  • Corporate (Bronze, Silver, Gold)
  • Affiliate: Government, Research, University
  • Affiliate: Startup RegTech
  • Affiliate: Individual

1.2. Eligibility criteria for each category are outlined in the RTA membership documentation and on our website. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Full-time employee headcount thresholds (Small <50 FTE, Medium 51–1000 FTE, Large >1000 FTE)
  • Whether the organisation develops RegTech solutions or is a regulated entity
  • Whether the organisation is a government department, university, or research institution
  • Startup age and ownership criteria for early-stage RegTechs

1.3. The RTA may request information to confirm eligibility and may reclassify a member to a more appropriate category if needed.
1.4. Membership applications are subject to approval by the RTA.

2. Membership Term, Proration & Renewal

2.1. All memberships run for one year from date of application.
2.3. Membership does not automatically renew. Renewal requires member action each year.
2.4. If a member does not renew by 60 days following anniversary date, access to member benefits will cease.

3. Membership Fees & Payment

3.1. Membership fees differ by category and are published by the RTA. Prices are in AUD + 10% GST.
3.2. A $300 AUD joining fee applies to new memberships.
3.3. Fees must be paid in full before membership benefits commence.
3.4. Membership fees are non-refundable.
3.5. Bundle memberships allow a defined number of individuals to be added under the organisation’s membership (e.g., 5, 15, 30 seats, depending on category).

4. Voting Rights

4.1. Voting rights apply only to eligible organisational members and are governed by the RTA Constitution.
4.2. The following do not hold voting rights:

  • Affiliate: Government, Research, University
  • Affiliate: Startup RegTech
  • Affiliate: Individual memberships

4.3. RegTech and Corporate members hold voting rights subject to constitutional rules.

5. Membership Benefits

Member benefits differ by category and may include:

For RegTech and Corporate Members:

  • Inclusion in the online RTA directory (for eligible RegTech categories)
  • Ability to present at #RegTechEdgeNoBorders events
  • Access to sponsorship opportunities for the #ACCELERATERegTech Global series
  • Use of RTA channels for marketing distribution: whitepapers, product releases, case studies
  • Invitations to participate in programs, challenges, or ecosystem initiatives
  • Access to member-only events, roundtables, and collaboration activities

For Individual Members:

  • Access to selected events, virtual sessions, and ecosystem opportunities
  • Subscription to RTA Insiders Newsletter
  • Discounts to events

5.1. Benefits may change over time as programs evolve.
5.2. Event participation may require separate registration fees where applicable.

6. Member Conduct & Expectations

6.1. Members must conduct themselves respectfully at all RTA events, programs, and in communications.
6.2. Members must not use their membership to:

  • Harass, intimidate, or discriminate
  • Misrepresent affiliation with the RTA
  • Promote fraudulent, unethical, or harmful activity

6.3. The RTA may suspend or terminate membership for breaches of conduct or these Terms.

7. Use of RTA Branding & Materials

7.1. Members may not use the RTA’s name, logo, or branding without written approval.
7.2. Membership does not imply endorsement of a product, service, organisation, or individual.

8. Privacy & Communications

8.1. Member information is handled according to the RTA privacy policy.
8.2. Members agree to receive communications relevant to membership, including:

  • Member updates
  • Event invitations
  • Governance notices
  • Research involvement opportunities

8.3. Members may opt out of marketing emails but cannot opt out of essential governance communications.

9. Participation in RTA Events, Programs & Opportunities

9.1. Participation in RTA programs, including #RegTechEdgeNoBorders, #ACCELERATERegTechGlobal, roundtables, challenges, research, and workshops, is subject to additional program-specific terms where required.
9.2. The RTA may select participating organisations or individuals based on relevance, diversity of representation, program capacity, or other criteria.
9.3. Event recordings, presentations, and materials may be published on RTA channels, including YouTube and the RTA website.

10. Termination of Membership

10.1. Members may cancel their membership at any time by written notice.
10.2. No refunds apply for early termination.
10.3. The RTA may terminate or suspend membership if:

  • Fees remain unpaid
  • Eligibility criteria are no longer met
  • The member breaches these Terms or the RTA Constitution
  • Misconduct or reputational harm is identified

11. Changes to Membership Categories or Benefits

11.1. The RTA may update membership structures, benefits, pricing, or eligibility criteria at any time.
11.2. Any changes will be published on the RTA website and take effect at the start of the next membership year unless stated otherwise.

12. Amendments to These Terms

12.1. The RTA may amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.
12.2. Updated Terms take effect upon publication.
